Ex-MMA Series fighter Vologdin set to face Castaneda in UFC debut

25-year-old flyweight Mark Vologdin (5–2 in MMA Series) has learned the name of his opponent for his UFC debut. He will take on John Castaneda, a U.S.-based fighter of Mexican heritage. Castaneda has competed eight times in the promotion, posting a 4–4 record. He is 34 years old.

Vologdin earned his UFC contract thanks to his performance on Dana White’s Contender Series. Last October, Mark delivered an exceptionally action-packed fight against Adrian Martinetti. Vologdin lost by decision, but his performance strongly impressed UFC president Dana White, and the Russian athlete ultimately secured a deal with the organization.

Castaneda vs. Vologdin is scheduled for April 18 and will be contested over three five-minute rounds.
