Adesanya suffers fourth straight loss as Pyfer scores statement win in Seattle

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya’s skid continued on Saturday night, as he dropped his fourth consecutive bout in the promotion’s Seattle main event.
Adesanya faced rising contender Joe Pyfer, who entered the fight ranked No. 14. The bout ended in the second round, with Pyfer securing a TKO victory at 4:18, marking the biggest win of his career.
Once a dominant force in the division, Adesanya now finds himself on a troubling losing streak, raising questions about his future in the title picture.
Meanwhile, Pyfer extended his winning streak to four and is now firmly in the conversation for a top-five ranking.
In the co-main event, former flyweight champion Alexa Grasso bounced back from recent setbacks, submitting Maycee Barber via choke in the first round.
Earlier on the card, veteran Michael Chiesa defeated Niko Price by submission and announced his retirement from MMA immediately afterward.
Also worth noting was an impressive performance by Azerbaijan’s Tofiq Musayev, who earned a unanimous decision victory over Ignacio Bahamondes in a highly entertaining bout.
