
Source: Tahir Abdullaev signs with UFC, could debut at Baku event


Azerbaijani welterweight Tahir Abdullaev has joined the UFC roster, multiple reputable sources have reported.
Abdullaev, 29, nicknamed “Tank,” is expected to make his promotional debut on June 27 at UFC Fight Night in Baku.
A professional since earlier in his career, Abdullaev owns a 21-3 record in 24 bouts. His résumé includes nine wins by knockout or technical knockout, seven by submission and five by decision. He is currently riding a four-fight winning streak.
Abdullaev last competed on Oct. 25, 2025, at GFC 33 x GBC 3 in Batumi, where he defeated Siyavush Dadras by second-round choke.
He has previously competed for several notable promotions, including UAE Warriors, MMA Series, Fight Nights and Ural FC. Abdullaev also captured the UAE Warriors welterweight title.
The UFC’s first event in Baku is scheduled for June 27. As of now, the promotion has not officially announced Abdullaev’s bout for the card.
