MMA Series heavyweight champion Dimitriy Andryushko has opened up about his preparations for his upcoming title defense and shared a lighthearted story involving former UFC champion Petr Yan.
Andryushko is set to face Brazilian veteran Francimar 'Bodao' Barroso on Sept. 5 at MMA Series-95 in Moscow. He is preparing for the bout in Yekaterinburg alongside the Archangel Michael team.
“I’m training in Yekaterinburg and getting ready for the fight. The Archangel Michael team and Igor Glazkov are helping me with my preparation.
“Petr Yan? He comes to training, so we cross paths from time to time. But there’s nothing really personal — he has his own things going on, and I have mine. We did play a bit of tag once, though. Petr hits really well — he caught me right in the gut. Just bam-bam. It was pretty solid,” Andryushko said during a video interview with Yulia Mirey for MMA-TV.com.
