
Barkhatov becomes first two-division champion in MMA Series history


Nikita Barkhatov made history on May 30 in Moscow, becoming the first two-division champion in MMA Series history.
In the main event of MMA Series-94 at the International Boxing Center, featherweight champion Barkhatov moved up to lightweight to face Dmitry Mikhailidi for the division’s title.
The championship bout went the full five rounds, with Barkhatov earning a unanimous decision victory. With the win, he added a second belt to his collection and became the first fighter in MMA Series history to capture titles in two weight classes.
In the co-main event, Savely Kurochkin finished Azamat Dzhigkaev by second-round TKO. The stoppage came at the 2:30 mark.
The card also featured a 2-on-2 team bout, with Andrey Vasilenko and Artem Gudkov defeating Aldam Aldamov and Tamraz Kusilov in the opening round.
