Conor McGregor: ‘My body is destroyed. I had no injuries before the fight’

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor has addressed the injury that brought his return to the Octagon to an end after just 69 seconds.
The Irishman injured his leg during the UFC 329 main event against Max Holloway. According to McGregor, there had been no indication during training camp that he was dealing with any physical issues.
“My body is destroyed. I had no injuries going into the fight,” McGregor said. “I was kicking, checking kicks and jumping throughout the entire camp, and backstage before the fight as well. This came out of nowhere. I’m completely in the dark here. The only way I can describe it is hell.”
An exact diagnosis has yet to be announced. UFC doctors suspect damage to the anterior cruciate ligament, though a final assessment will be made following further examinations.
McGregor was helped out of the Octagon by members of his team after the event.
