Belarusian fighter Vladislav “Belaz” Kovalev successfully defended his RCC middleweight title at RCC 25 in Yekaterinburg, Russia, where the 27-year-old champion faced Russian veteran Mikhail Ragozin.
The fight ended in the opening round. Kovalev took the fight to the ground, advanced into a dominant position and locked in a choke, forcing Ragozin to tap.
It marked Kovalev’s second successful title defense as RCC champion. The Belarusian had previously defended the belt with another submission win, choking out Alexander Shlemenko.
Ragozin, meanwhile, suffered his first defeat after a four-fight winning streak.
